OVERVIEW:
AYS Rec. Basketball Cheer is a program designed for Avon children in grades 3rd- 6th for the 2024-2025 school year. Our program goals are to teach the future cheerleaders of Avon basics, such as chants, motions, jumps, and age-appropriate stunting. We also hope to instill a feeling of accomplishment, team spirit, and good sportsmanship. Cheerleaders will cheer for AYS Rec. Basketball games throughout their Winter season.
AGE DIVISIONS:
This program is offered to children in 3rd through 6th grade.
PRACTICES AND GAMES:
Practices will begin the week of January 6, 2025. Practices and games will be scheduled on weeknights and Saturday's.
COST:
Early Bird Pricing - Register Sept. 3 - Oct. 6, 2024:
$77 (discount auto-applies at check-out) + cost of uniform
Regular Pricing - Register Oct. 7 - Nov. 19, 2024:
$96 + cost of uniform
*Please note that registration requests after November 20th will not be able to be granted due to the scheduled uniform fittings and the turnaround time of uniform ordering.

UNIFORM FITTING (Must attend if your child is a new AYS Cheerleader or they need to order any new uniform pieces).

GEAR REQUIRED:
Cheerleaders will buy the required uniform when they register for the season if they do not have one from the previous season. Participants will be required to purchase white cheer shoes and black briefs. These items can be ordered through Varsity or on your own. Based on availability, there will be an opportunity to buy used items from other parents. We will have a link posted soon to access the list of items available, sizes, and contacts.
