2024 Fall Flag Football

Welcome to 2024 Fall Flag Football! 

Please visit the Fall Flag Football page for details about the season.

Teams will be selected after evaluations. Once your athlete has been allocated to a team, you should see your player's team in the GameChanger app. If you haven’t already, please download and login to the GameChanger app. on your smartphone to be ready for updates! **You MUST use the same username and password in GameChanger as the AYS account you used to register your child in order to see their team.


FLAG FOOTBALL GEAR REQUIRED
  1. AYS will provide the athlete a jersey.
  2. AYS will have flags and flag belts as part of the equipment located at each field for each athlete's use. These flags and flag belts will stay part of AYS equipment for use in upcoming seasons.
  3. Players must wear shoes. Football cleats are encouraged, but NO cleats with exposed metal are allowed.
  4. Players may wear gloves, elbow pads, and kneepads (optional).

The AYS Football Committee, USA Football, and the Avon Youth Sports organization are committed to ensuring a positive youth football experience. We provide league-wide benefits for AYS tackle football players, parents, and coaches through USA Football’s Heads Up Program. Indianapolis-based USA Football and AYS have been partners since 2011. USA Football is the sport’s national governing body and is the official youth football development partner of the NFL and its 32 teams.

2024 Fall Softball

AYS offers recreational and instructional leagues in girls' Co-Ed t-ball (06U), coach pitch (08U), and fast pitch (10U and up) softball intended to:  
-Involve everyone in a positive team experience 
- Develop fundamental softball skills 
- Build player confidence 
- Emphasize player effort to play well 
- Practice good sportsmanship 
- Consider all players as WINNERS regardless of score!

**Playing age for Fall 2024 Recreational Softball is based on age of player as of 12.31.2024 (The age of your daughter as of December 31, 2024 will determine what division she will play in during the Fall league. Please make note of this as it is different from our Spring League!)

Please note – AYS does not guarantee coach requests and/or ride share requests. This matches up to the policies of the other communities in our league. Head Coaches will be able to pick ONE assistant coach prior to the draft. All coaches will have their own daughters and their assistant’s daughter(s) on their team. After those players are set, a snake draft will occur. *Siblings will automatically be placed on the same team.

2024 Summer Basketball

AYS Summer Basketball is designed to be a fun mini season during Summer break. This program allows players the opportunity to grow and develop their skills while also having FUN!

PLEASE NOTE:
1) Basketballs are NOT distributed to coaches. Each player should bring or purchase a basketball to bring to practice. A basketball is necessary to allow each player to work on ball handling drills during practice and allows for extra practice at home. Please make sure to put your name on it, so they do not get lost. Athletes should also bring a water bottle and wear gym appropriate shoes.

SUMMER BASKETBALL SEASON
This program includes 6 practices and 4 games. The season will run from Monday, July 8 - Saturday, July 27, and will be held on weeknights (typically between 6:00pm - 9:00pm) and Saturday's (typically between 10:00am - 4:00pm). Please note: league and grade-specific practice days and times will not be determined until after registration has closed.

2024 Rec. Volleyball

The AYS Volleyball program is a recreational coed league played in the Fall offering players 3rd – 12th grade the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of volleyball. Players will register for the grade they will be in for the 2024-25 school year.

Our program goal is to teach each player the basic skills of volleyball: serving, setting, spiking, serve receive, rotation, and most importantly good sportsmanship. 

Each team will consist of 8-10 players chosen by the coaches after evaluations. Coaches will emphasize player effort by following a team rotation throughout each game. 

Teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship is a big focus for the program. Success is more than just winning. We encourage each player to display respect, effort, and team camaraderie on and off-the-court.

2024 Summer Jr. Golf Camp

AYS is offering a Jr. Golf Camp for incoming 5th-8th graders (grade level is based on the 2024-2025 school year). Camp is designed for both beginners and advanced golfers. Participants will receive instruction from Avon High School Boys & Girls Golf Head Coach, Kevin Bischof and Prestwick Golf Pro, Michael Berry and will cover instructional driving, irons, putter, and pitching. The camp will conclude with a scramble/tournament!

Camp will be held June 10 - 13 from 1:00pm - 3:00pm daily.

Middle School Strength & Speed Camp

The Avon High School Strength & Speed Program is hosting 10 days of one-hour strength and speed workouts for any student that will be entering 6th - 8th grade for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. During the 10 sessions, they will get a taste of what the Strength & Speed course at the high school is like, learning basic progressions, movements, cues, and terminology student-athletes are expected to know in the Sports Performance Center. This camp will be used as a springboard for middle schoolers to use throughout the summer in the middle school weight rooms.

Avon High School Strength & Speed is hosting 4 days of one-hour strength and speed workouts for any student K-5th grade. During the 4 sessions, they will learn basic progressions and cues that will acclimate athletes to the movement and terminology used in the Sports Performance Center. Each session is programmed to be fun, fast, and full of energy. Another camp that will build off of this one is penciled in for July 2024. Stay tuned for more information on that.

HOW DO YOU MEET ELIGIBILITY?
I understand that my child must either reside in Avon or attend school in Avon.

I UNDERSTAND THAT MY PLAYER IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND TRYOUTS AND THE FOLLOWING SCENARIO'S COULD OCCUR:
1. If a player receives an offer, player will have 24 hours to accept or decline the offer.

2024 Jr. Orioles Fall CHEER (Travel)

Jr. Orioles Cheer is a new addition to the AYS Cheer Program. This team will consist of 4th-8th graders who will cheer for the Jr. Orioles Travel Football Team during the regular and tournament seasons (July-November). Jr. Orioles Cheer will also aim to compete in local and tournament sponsored competitions throughout the season. In preparation for Middle School and High School Cheer teams, this team will focus on Cheer fundamentals, team building skills and promoting community spirit.  

Jr Orioles Cheer does require tryouts and we have the dates set for May 8th and 10th.

VARSITY UCA YOUTH DAY CAMP - June 27 & 28, 2024

Avon Youth Sports will be hosting a Varsity UCA Youth Day Camp for ages KG - 8th grade. The cheerleaders will learn stunting, sideline cheers and chants, jumping technique, and other game-day material from UCA instructors. Fall football cheer season is scheduled to kick off during this optional two-day summer camp on Thursday, June 27 and Friday, June 28 at the Avon Middle School South gym from 8:30am - 3:00pm daily. Camp will be open to the public and you don’t have to be an AYS cheerleader to attend. Participation by Fall AYS Rec. Cheerleaders and Jr. Orioles Cheerleaders is strongly encouraged. The cost is $135.00 for cheerleaders and includes lunch for both days as well as a t-shirt. The cost for coaches is $90.00.

2024 Fall Cheerleading (Football)

AYS Cheer is a recreational program designed for Avon children going into grades Kindergarten - 6th in the Fall. Our program goals are to teach the future cheerleaders of Avon basics, such as chants, motions, jumps, and age-appropriate stunting. We also hope to instill a feeling of accomplishment, team spirit, and good sportsmanship. Our Kindergarten - 6th grade Fall cheerleaders will cheer for AYS Rec. Football teams throughout their Fall season. The season will consist of an optional two-day summer camp in late June, weekly practices beginning in July, and cheering at assigned games every week beginning in August (times will vary) through early October. There may be additional opportunities for performances during the season, including a Colts game day experience, during an Avon High School football game, or college football game.
