Fall Baseball

MISSION
The Avon Youth Sports recreational baseball program is designed to give players an understanding of the fundamentals, develop already established skills, learn about teamwork, how to handle both winning and losing, and how to work hard to achieve a goal.

AGE DIVISIONS (based on the 2025 Little League Age Chart)
Tee Ball: ages 4, 5, & 6 (Coach pitch/hit off the tee)
Rookies: ages 6 & 7 (All Coach pitch)
AA: ages 8 & 9 (First year of player pitch)
AAA: ages 9 & 10 (any 11 year old's that may not have any experience - Full player pitch)
Majors: ages 11 & 12 (Full player pitch)
Juniors/Seniors: combined league for 13-16 year old's

Please note that Fall 2024 ages are based on the 2025 Little League Age Chart.

SEASON
July 29, 2024 | Practices tentatively begin.
October 4, 2024 | Tentative season end date.

REGISTRATION
Registration will be available May 6th - July 1st.

COST
Early Bird Pricing - Register May 6th - May 31st:
Coed Tee Ball: $85.00*
Rookies: $128.00*
AA, AAA & Majors: $147.00*
Juniors & Seniors: $162.00*
*Early Bird Discount will auto apply at check-out during the dates listed above*

Register June 1st - July 1st:
Co-ed Tee Ball: $106.00
Rookies: $160.00
AA, AAA & Majors: $184.00
Juniors & Seniors: $202.00

Registration fee includes a 5" X 7" team photo.

EVALUATIONS
UPDATED DATE: Wednesday, July 17th at 6:00pm
Please check-in at the field listed for your athlete's age division.

Rookies - Field 4 (Cochran Heating and Cooling Field)
AA - Field 7 (Manning Concrete Field)
AAA - Field 6 ( AYS Field)
Majors  - Field 9 (Nigh/Brewlink Field)
Jrs/Srs - Field 5 (Hendricks Regional Health Field)
(There are no evaluations for Tee Ball).

Location: AYS Fields 866 S. County Rd. 625 E., Avon.

PRACTICES AND GAMES
Fall Baseball will have one game on Sundays (starting after 1pm and should be finished between 6-7pm) and possibly one game during the week and one practice. Actual team schedules will not be built until after registration has closed and teams have been assigned. AYS Fall Baseball will be an internal league unless there aren't enough players signed up. If there aren't enough players per league, teams will play outside leagues and could travel to those leagues (local organizations).

LOCATIONS
Practices and games will be held at various facilities including AYS Baseball/Softball Park (located at 866 S. Co. Rd. 625 East, Avon), Avon Middle School North Fields, and Avon Middle School South Fields.

GEAR REQUIRED
AYS will provide players with uniform shirts and hats. Players are asked to purchase gray baseball pants, a fielding glove, a bat, and a batting helmet.  Cleats are encouraged (non-metal), but not mandatory.

HEAD COACHES
Volunteer Coaches are needed for every league, every team. Please consider registering as a coach when registering your child. Head Coaches are asked to attend a Coach's meeting before the season starts.  More details on that to come. 

ASSISTANT COACHES
Assistant Coaches are also needed. Please consider registering as an assistant coach when registering your child.

Umpires Needed

AYS is currently looking for umpires for its Baseball programs.  Interested individuals must be at least 13 years of age. Adults are welcome too!

AYS is looking for individuals with a willingness to learn the skill of umpiring.  Experience is not required as AYS offers training to all umpires.  Training meetings are mandatory along with any other umpire meetings that may happen.  Criminal Background Check is required for adults 18 and over; 2 letters of recommendation for minors required. 

Pay is based on experience from $30 and up per game.

Team/player/parent communication

AYS Coaches will utilize Game Changer to communicate with players/families. Please download the Game Changer app. on your smartphone. Once your player is rostered to a team, you will be able to access the schedule.
